Fremantle will be humming in four part harmony when choruses and quartets arrive from all over the country next month. The 2024 Sweet Adelines Australia annual convention will be held from 16-20 May at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle, and Circular Keys Chorus will be bringing the verve and vibrancy of the east coast’s busiest port with them to this iconic west coast port!
We’ve been practising two fabulous songs over the last year in preparation for the event, and are very pleased with our hard work and progress. In addition to Vicki Dwyer’s weekly direction, we’ve had an amazing weekend workshop with Bec Hewitt, and are very much looking forward to a pre-convention coaching session with Di Huber, director of River Blenders Chorus, Missouri, USA.
We know the competition will be fierce this year, as it is every year, but we’re aiming high and hoping to perform at our absolute best. We’ll also be barracking for the various CKC-associated quartets who will be competing in the quartet division. But whatever the results, we’ll all come away winners regardless, just by being part of this incredible annual event, and we’re sure we’ll take back with us a whole year’s worth of energy and inspiration after spending a thrilling weekend with our sisters in song from around Australia.
